Calibrating foamed ceramic without tearing the surface

Calibrating foamed ceramic without tearing the surface — photo on request

Foamed ceramic is light and full of closed voids. A conventional calibrating tool does not cut the surface, it ploughs through it and tears out the cell walls. What comes off the machine looks flat and is not.

Shear instead of plough

Our calibrating blade, FX547-51 at 40/37 × 10 × 14 mm, uses a bond formulation developed to shear the material rather than displace it. The cut stays sharp, the surface closes instead of tearing, and throughput runs higher than a conventional roller on the same machine.

Where it runs

Thickness calibrating and levelling machines on foamed ceramic, quartz and polished porcelain tile. The calibrating hob handles levelling ahead of the polishing line, with segment layout and brazing arranged to spread wear across the roll so it stays cylindrical instead of developing flats.
